Tunnel
Things are moving quickly. This week the site has been full of activity. The finishing crew is preparing holes 7 - 8 & 9 for seeding. Sodding may actually start as early as tomorrow. Aproximately 50 trees were planted over the past few days with another 40 to be planted next week. Irrigation work is nearing completion and should be ready for testing next week. Lastly the tunnel for the community trail started this week closing John Pound Road. This work should last until the 4th of July.

Winter Update - January 25th, 2008
UPDATED Jan-25-2008
Up top looking down on hole 10
Although the cold days of winter has stopped the play of golf and slowed the work on the new golf holes things have not ground to a halt. The Expansion Committee, Trail Committee and our Contractor - Gateman Milloy all have been very hard at work. The following is a list of items that have been completed or confirmed in the past month.

1. The wet well for the irrigation pump house was installed last week.

2. A permit from the MTO was received allowing temporary access onto the property north of highway 3 for the purpose of removing logs and transportation of aggregates required for both the trails and the finishing of golf holes 10, 11, 17 and 18.

3. Rough grading of holes 11, 12, 17 and 18 have been 90% completed. Once log removal has been completed rough grading should be finished.

4. Oil well capping on holes 13 & 14 has started with work expected to be completed in 2 - 3 weeks.

5. Clearing and grubbing of holes 15 and 16 is complete. Top soil stripping and rough grading has started.

6. The cold temperatures has allowed the freeze of the ground permitting access to some of the wet areas - namely on hole 10.

7. Clearing and grubbing for sections of the the Community Trail has commenced.

Overall our contractor feels we are on schedule to date.

Attached are some of the latest pictures taken during a recent walk.

Looking towards the 18th green.
Photos taken during site walk on Dec 6th. Clearing has been happening on holes 12, 15 & 16. The cold wintery days has not slowed down construction. With the little bit of frost that is in the ground, machines are able to move a lot of soil.

Note - the first picture is of the 11th hole not the 18th hole.

The 10th hole from the tee. 350 yd par 4. Better be able to hit it straight!
Pro Manager Rick Pero took a stroll across the river on Sunday and here are some pictures he took. Holes 10 - 11 - 17 & 18 are being worked on now. Clearing is complete and now earthowrks will begin - topsoil is being stripped and stockpiled. One picture shows you the completed work on 7 - 8 & 9.
Greens mix will be brought in during the spring and seeding will commence shortly thereafter.

The views on this course are going to be breathtaking! Enjoy the pictures!

A view of the tenth hole. Clearing and grubbing is almost complete. A 350 yard par 4. The green site will sit partly up the slope in the background. A tough start to the back nine.
Recently our Golf Course Architect Kevin Holmes of MBTW toured the site. Kevin was impressed with the work to date as well as the beauty of the site. Kevin took some photos while on site and has shared some with us.

UPDATED Oct-20-2007
Looking back at 9 tee.
Pictures taken during a site walk with the contractor.

As the week ending October 19th draws to a close plenty of work has been completed to date. Holes 7 - 8 & 9 are primarily all roughed in. Next for these holes will be to lay drainage and begin installing some of the irrigation. Topsoil will be replaced very soon. Finish grading and seeding will commence in the spring of '08.
Meanwhile clearing and grubbing is almost complete on the south side of the creek. Soon the "dozers" and excavators will be moving in to start the rough grading of holes 10 - 11 - 17 & 18.
The plan is for Gateman Milloy (our contractor) to work right through the winter months. Only rain and frigid temperatures will slow down the machines. We are hoping to begin seeding sometime during the late spring of '08.
Plans are still for a late spring of '09 opening.

These photos were taken prior to the commencement of clearing and grubbing which is scheduled to start mid-week next week.

There is not much to see but this will provide a bit of a reference point as we provide regular updates to see the amount of work to be done and the changes the property will take to provide us with our final product.
